Fun Things You Didn’t Know Your iPhone Could Do

iPhones are packed with features that can make your life easier, more fun, and more convenient — many of which you might not even know exist! Whether you're new to smartphones or an experienced user, here are some fun and useful things your iPhone can do that you may not have discovered yet.

Magnify Small Text with Your Camera

If reading small print is a challenge, your iPhone has a built-in magnifier that can help. Simply go to Settings > Accessibility > Magnifier and turn it on. Once activated, you can use your phone’s camera to zoom in on any text, such as menus or labels, by opening the Magnifier app. It works just like a handheld magnifying glass!

Enable Text-to-Speech

iPhones can read text aloud, making it easier to enjoy books, articles, or even emails. To use this feature, go to Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content and enable Speak Selection or Speak Screen. Now, you can highlight text and tap Speak, or swipe down with two fingers to hear your phone read the content aloud. It's a great way to absorb information without straining your eyes!

Turn on Live Photos for Fun Memories

Did you know your iPhone can capture moving photos? With Live Photos, your phone takes a brief video along with a photo, creating a fun, animated memory when you press on the picture. Simply turn on the Live Photo option in the Camera app, and you'll be able to create dynamic images with just a tap!

Scan Documents with Your iPhone Camera

No need for a scanner — your iPhone can scan documents for you! Just open the Notes app, create a new note, tap the camera icon, and select Scan Documents. Your iPhone will automatically detect and scan your documents, making it easy to keep important papers saved digitally.

Set Up Emergency SOS

Your iPhone can help you in an emergency, even if you can't speak. By enabling Emergency SOS, you can alert emergency services and your trusted contacts by pressing the side button five times quickly. To set it up, go to Settings > Emergency SOS and make sure it’s turned on. It’s peace of mind in case of an emergency.

Use "Find My" to Track Loved Ones or Devices

If you’ve ever misplaced your phone or worried about a loved one, Find My is a great tool. You can use it to locate your device, share your location with others, and even track family members’ devices for peace of mind. Just go to Settings > Your Name > Find My to enable it and start using it.

Control Your Home with the Home App

If you have smart home devices like lights, thermostats, or security cameras, you can control them all from your iPhone with the Home app. It’s easy to adjust settings, lock doors, or turn on the lights — all from the convenience of your phone. Simply go to the Home app and see which smart devices are available to control.
