On this day in 1856, Frank B. Kellogg was born—a future U.S. Secretary of State (1925–1929) and peace-making legend. He co-created the Kellogg-Briand Pact of 1928, an ambitious treaty aiming to make war so last century. For his efforts, he snagged the Nobel Peace Prize in 1929. Not bad for a guy whose name is now synonymous with dreaming big for global harmony!
