Trivia: The International Banana Museum

in partnership with…

Good morning from RetireHub,

It’s Monday and today we’re diving into how you can find unclaimed money easily! Who wouldn't love stumbling upon some extra cash? As always, we have exciting deals, tips, and more to brighten your day!

Market swings, especially during election years, can make traditional investments more volatile. That's why savvy investors are turning to private credit—a proven performer that has outpaced both high-yield bonds and stocks during the last three market downturns.

If you follow the moves of the world’s top asset managers, it’s clear that private credit has become one of the most sought-after asset classes in recent years.

Percent offers accredited investors access to exclusive private credit deals, featuring:

  • Proven performance with annual net returns of 14%+ and over $1 billion in deals funded

  • Stable recurring cash flow from regular interest payments.

  • Diversification across sectors like small business loans, consumer finance, and real estate throughout the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.

  • Investment flexibility with individual private credit deals or a blended note across multiple deals

Private credit’s low correlation to public markets makes it an ideal hedge against volatility. With Percent, you can access deals previously reserved for institutional investors, positioning your portfolio for both stability and growth.

Find Unclaimed Money Easily

Ever wonder if there's money out there waiting for you? You might be surprised! Tons of unclaimed funds are just sitting around—maybe some of it has your name on it.

Here's how you might find some hidden cash:

  • Check State Unclaimed Property Websites: Every state holds onto unclaimed money from things like forgotten bank accounts, insurance policies, or refunds. Visit your state's unclaimed property website to search for your name.

  • Use MissingMoney.com: This is a free, official tool endorsed by the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA). It lets you search multiple states at once. Give it a try at MissingMoney.com.

  • Look Up Old Bank Accounts: The FDIC maintains records of unclaimed funds from failed banks. You can search their database if you think you had an account that was forgotten. Visit the FDIC Unclaimed Funds page.

  • Forgotten Pensions: If you had a job years ago with a pension plan, you might have benefits waiting. Check the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation to see if you're owed anything.

  • Unclaimed Tax Refunds: Sometimes tax refunds go uncollected because of address changes or other issues. Head over to the IRS "Where's My Refund?" tool to check if you have any refunds due.

  • Old Savings Bonds: Maybe your grandma bought you a savings bond ages ago that you forgot about. You can check for matured savings bonds at the Treasury Hunt website.

It might take a bit of sleuthing, but who knows? You could stumble upon some unexpected cash. And hey, finding money you didn't know you had is always a good feeling!

Longevity Tip of the Day

Cultivate a Curiosity Habit — Imagine if you set aside just 15 minutes a day to learn something new, like a random fact, a craft technique, or a snippet of a different language. Research shows that continuous learning can stimulate the brain, boost mental flexibility, and even create new neural pathways. This can help keep your mind sharp and may counteract age-related cognitive decline. So, grab a book, browse a podcast, or explore a new topic online—your brain will thank you!

Slang Phrase of the Day

Phrase: “Clutch”

Meaning: “Clutch” is used to describe someone or something that is extremely reliable or awesome in a critical moment, often saving the day. It can be used to express admiration for someone’s timely assistance or a brilliant idea that makes a big difference.

In a sentence: “That last-minute advice you gave was so clutch; I couldn't have nailed that presentation without it!”
