We had our artist depict a standoff between some cowboys and Victorian high society folks!

(Now this looks like a movie I’d want to see.)

The Emotional Benefits of Pen-Paling

I remember passing notes to my bestie in grade school and waiting with exhilaration for her return message. It was all great fun even though we were sitting just a few rows apart in the same classroom and would spend our entire recess engrossed in conversation about what fifth grade girls find most interesting – fifth grade boys.

It’s a spectacle to watch But now, decades later, having traded that primary form of written correspondence for abbreviated, less intimate Facebook and Instagram posts and texts, I’ve discovered that personal notes can hold some of the same delightful anticipation and emotional satisfaction.

Words of the Day

Finance Term: Fee-only financial planner

Definition: Fee-only financial planners are advisors who operate on a fee-only basis to create budgets, plan retirement, pay down debt and set goals to reach other financial milestones. They typically collect fees from only you as a percentage of your assets under management (AUM).

Definition: Reduces swelling, pain, and soreness (such as ibuprofen or naproxen).

Slang Word of the Day: Sis

Definition: A shortened version of "sister," this term is typically used to greet a friend.

Longevity Tip Of The Day

Consider extra vitamin D — Vitamin D, a bright byproduct of sunlight, has many health benefits, including a link to longevity. But too much vitamin D increases your risk of dying as much as too little, according to a 2015 Danish study. So you want to get the right amount. Don’t just rely on outdoor time to get extra vitamin D; the rate of skin cancer rises as we age, so it’s important to limit exposure. The smart plan: Ask your doctor if you would benefit from extra D in pill form. University of Copenhagen researchers found that the ideal vitamin D level is more than 50 nanomoles per liter of blood, but less than 100 nmol/L. (If you don’t know what that means, like us, then just ask your doctor 😊)

Oklahoma City wants to steal New York's thunder with new tallest skyscraper in US
