On this day in 1941, Orson Welles's Citizen Kane, considered by many critics to be the greatest film ever made, premiered in New York City. Citizen Kane was named the best film of the century by the American Film Institute in 1998.

Looking at data from as far back as 1890, researchers say they have produced the first-ever evidence that whatever declines are affecting nature globally, conservation work can have a positive impact.

“We find that in two-thirds of cases, conservation either improved the state of biodiversity or at least slowed declines,” the authors write.

6-year-old Ruby was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2020. Her parents desperately began the search for matching donor bone marrow stem cells that could save her.
