How many hours a day do you sleep? |
Can't seem to get a good night's sleep?
Let's change that! Here are some easy bedtime habits to help you snooze soundly and wake up refreshed.
Unplug Before Bed
Swap scrolling on your phone for reading a book or listening to calming music at least 30 minutes before hitting the hay.
Blue light from screens can trick your brain into thinking it's daytime.
Set a Sleep Schedule
Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day—even on weekends.
This helps regulate your body's internal clock.
Create a Cozy Sleep Space
Keep your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet.
Consider blackout curtains or a white noise machine if light or noise is an issue.
Watch What You Eat and Drink
Avoid caffeine and big meals close to bedtime.
Opt for a light snack if you're hungry, like a banana or a handful of almonds.
Wind Down with Relaxation
Limit Naps
If you need a nap, keep it under 30 minutes and avoid napping late in the day.
Long or late naps can make it harder to fall asleep at night.
Get Some Daytime Activity
Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster and enjoy deeper sleep.
Just avoid vigorous workouts close to bedtime.
Making a few of these simple changes can make a big difference in your sleep quality. Give them a try—your future well-rested self will thank you!

It was a very tight race between “Classic apple pie” and “Apple crisp or crumble”, with the latter edging out the win by just a few votes! If you’re looking for a great Apple Crisp recipe for this weekend, look no further:
Thanks to the many of you who vote and comment every day.
Our Favorite Comments:
“Grandma's apple pie is Always the best! 😋 Sometimes I'll make fried apples on the stove w/ the same spices, sweetner to serve warm over vanilla ice cream. I refrigerate the leftovers to nuke in the microwave for the same purpose. Still not as good as Granny's pie, but it gets me by.”
“Hard to choose, apple pie is offered more often . But when I’m baking, it’s the apple crisp recipe. ”
“A cold crisp apple just to bite into”
“Honestly my favorite way to enjoy an apple is raw, sliced and dipped in nut butter(peanut, almond, etc). ”
“Eating out of hand or sliced with cheddar cheese.”
While we can’t publish them all, we do read and appreciate every comment. Some comments are edited to make room for more contributions.

Engage in a Culinary Experimentation Week — Dedicate one week each month to exploring the culinary techniques and flavors from a single, unfamiliar cuisine. Use this time to delve into the cultural significance of the dishes you select, and embrace the challenge of recreating them at home. Not only does this broaden your cooking skills and palate, but it also enhances cognitive function by tackling new challenges and deepening your understanding of diverse culinary traditions. Invite friends or family to join you for a tasting event at the end of the week to share your newfound knowledge and creations!
